General Religious Education/Faith in Action

Every student in the Sixth Form is required to attend one lesson a week of General Religious Education and one lesson of Faith in Action. Students study a range of topics to help them broaden their understanding of key religious beliefs and to support them in their own personal and spiritual journey. A wide range of ethical issues are also studied and debated from euthanasia to medical ethics.

In Year 12, students complete the Faith in Action Course. Students are provided with opportunities to contribute to the school and the wider community through completing various projects, including fund-raising for under-privileged young people, organising events for senior citizens, supporting younger students in their studies and reading. For the students, these are extremely rewarding and beneficial experiences as they connect them to the whole school and the wider community and develop valuable transferable skills.

Students also have the opportunity to complete Silver Duke of Edinburgh or to participate in the Outlook Expedition Project.
