St Mark's Catholic School

House System

Our House System is an important part of life at St Mark’s and helps foster a strong sense of belonging, identity and community across the school. Each house is named after an important Catholic saint whose life reflects the values of courage, faith, service and leadership that we encourage all pupils to live out each day. Rooted in our Catholic mission, every house is also linked to school virtues and Catholic Social Teaching themes, helping pupils connect faith with action through service, compassion, participation and responsibility towards others.

Through the House System, pupils are recognised and rewarded for demonstrating the values at the heart of our community. Pupils earn St Mark’s Points for positive contributions, effort, leadership, participation and embodying our school virtues both inside and outside the classroom.

Throughout the year, pupils take part in a wide range of House events, Mission of the Month activities and whole school competitions, creating opportunities for teamwork, healthy competition, student leadership and school pride. House Captains and Prefects play a key role in leading activities and helping to shape the culture of the school community.

We are proud that our House System celebrates the gifts and talents of all pupils while encouraging every young person to contribute positively to the life of St Mark’s. The year culminates in the St Mark’s House Party, where the winning house is celebrated for its contribution, spirit and achievement across the school year.
