St Mark's Sixth Form is far more than just a place to study for A-Levels; it is a welcoming, supportive community that genuinely invests in every student, empowering each of us to reach our full potential both academically and personally. The Sixth Form actively encourages us all to get involved, and I've found that branching out has given me the chance to develop a skillset that I'll carry with me beyond the classroom. Whether that be through the wide range of extracurriculars on offer, from choir, the school magazine to mentoring younger students and plenty more, each one enriches us in its own way. Furthermore, the encouragement to explore supercurriculars has been just as valuable, helping us strengthen our university applications and discover genuine interests that shape our future career paths. When it comes to next steps, whether that's university, apprenticeships, or the world of work, St Mark's offers support every step of the way, ensuring there is always something in place to guide us in the best way possible. It's reassuring to know that whatever we decide to do after Sixth Form, we won't be navigating it alone. Beyond the academics and opportunities, we all value the community at St Marks. The values St Mark's has instilled in us, kindness, integrity, and a commitment to serving others, will be taken forward into our own walks of life. Faith in Action has been the perfect space for that, giving us the chance to give back to our community, organise fundraising events, and support causes that matter to each of us. St Mark's Sixth Form was an easy choice for me. The support, the community, and the way I've been pushed to grow as an individual has shaped me into an ambitious, confident and well rounded person. St Mark’s Sixth Form is a welcoming and ambitious community that encourages every student to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. The transition to A-levels brings increased challenge and responsibility but there’s a strong support network within the Sixth Form, making the transition as seamless as possible. Teachers are always willing to offer guidance, whether that be with academic studies, university applications or future career aspirations. One of the aspects I value most about the Sixth Form is the strong sense of community, where everyone looks out for one another and celebrates each other’s success. This is reflected in everyday interactions as well as in wider school life where students are given opportunities to take on leadership roles, support younger year groups and contribute to the development of the school as a whole. Whether through mentoring, representing the school at events or participating and leading after school activities, Sixth Form students are encouraged to make a meaningful contribution to the wider school community while developing valuable skills that will benefit them long after they leave St Mark’s. Furthermore, opportunities such as Faith in Action allow students to put our school values into practice by supporting charitable causes and making a positive impact on others. These experiences reinforce the importance of compassion, service and leadership, enabling students to grow not only as learners but as responsible and caring members of society. The independence offered in Sixth Form, including dedicated study spaces and communal areas, alongside the greater responsibility for managing our own learning, helps prepare students for life beyond school. For me, choosing to remain at St Mark’s Sixth Form was an easy decision because of the welcoming atmosphere, strong Catholic ethos and commitment to helping every student become the best version of themselves.
