Headteacher's Welcome
As Headteacher of St Mark's Catholic School, I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
St Mark’s is a loving and joyful Catholic community where relationships are rooted in love. Inspired by Gospel values, our unwavering commitment to living out our faith is at the heart of everything we do. Our Christian faith calls us to serve others, especially those in need. While everyday excellence is a key priority, our community is defined by kindness, inclusivity, and respect so every individual feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive.
Staff at St Mark’s believe deeply in an education that instils possibilities, transforms lives, and enables all students to make exceptional progress. Our staff aren't just highly skilled; they are deeply passionate about providing inspirational learning experiences and giving every student the confidence to discover their unique, God-given potential. We celebrate the unique gifts, talents and achievements of our students, and our pastoral support ensures they feel safe and cared for. Exceptional relationships are central to school life, and these extend to our valued partnership with our parents, who are overwhelmingly supportive of our staff and our vision.
We enjoy an outstanding reputation for academic achievement, evidenced by a consistent record of excellent examination results. This academic ambition is reflected in our thriving Sixth Form. The fact that the majority of our Year 11 pupils choose to continue their studies with us is a true testament to the positive student-teacher relationships nurtured here. As fantastic role models, our Sixth Formers live out their faith daily and take on numerous leadership roles, whilst embracing a challenging and enriching curriculum that prepares them for admission to the country's best universities.
While our academic standards are high, we believe true education extends far beyond the classroom and we are committed to developing the whole person. Through our vibrant enrichment programme, we create opportunities for every student to grow in faith, character, and confidence, empowering them to make a positive difference in their communities and bring about a better world.
I encourage you to explore our website and read our school newsletter, Living Out Our Faith, to gain a deeper insight into our wonderful school.
